Bridging the Transportation Gap in Oakland Cty - Aug 20
Employers and workers benefit from new public transit options
AUGUST 20, 2024 | 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Getting to work is a real challenge for many Americans, according to a 2022 study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics.
Up to 14 million people annually struggle with reliable transportation, impacting their ability to hold a steady job. This, in turn, hurts employers and their ability to attract and retain quality workers. Southeast Michigan feels the impact daily.
Voters in Oakland County passed a countywide transit millage in November 2022. Significant progress has already been made to expand public transit service throughout the region. Longstanding gaps in our public transit system are being filled, including those found in employment corridors.
Join us for a free, virtual workshop on the state of public transit in Oakland County. The goal is to help employers better understand the transportation services and tools available to them, their employees and job seekers. Learn how you can play a part in developing a better transit network across Oakland County.
