Local Area Unemployment Statistics Update -
February
2013
On April 15th, the BLS released updated Local
Area Unemployment Statistics for February 2013 and
OAKLAND COUNTY’S jobless rate decreased from 9.3% to
8.5%. During this period, Oakland County’s labor
force declined by 1,400 participants and the number
of employed residents grew by nearly 6,000. OAKLAND
COUNTY’S annual unemployment rate for March 2012
through February 2013 was 9.0% compared to 9.1% for the State of Michigan’s
over the same period.
