Suburban Collection Showplace officially broke ground on its new Hyatt Place Hotel on June 26, 2012. The project is estimated to cost $8.5 million with construction slated to be completed in July 2013.

The six story, 126 guest room hotel will be attached to the east side of the Showplace and will feature a 24-hour fitness center and guest kitchen, complimentary Wi-Fi, an indoor pool and an exterior courtyard ideal for weddings or other events.

Construction will also include a 20,000 square foot expansion of the Showplace's Diamond Banquet and Conference Center, adding 10 more meeting rooms to the current 320,000 square foot building currently housing 215,000 square feet of exposition space. The City of Novi provided a six year tax abatement to assist with the project.
